Sockets
Sockets, also known as socket cap, socket head, or socket screws, are a type of threaded fastener and cap screw that have sockets in their head through which torque is applied to screw the fastener. Depending on the type of socket head, a certain tool is required to fasten the screw in place such as a screw driver or Allen wrench.
The most important reasons for the increasing use of socket head cap screws in industry are safety, reliability, and economy.
